Wow, so it’s been 3 years since I last completed the Great North Run on behalf of Teesside Hospice so it’s time to get those trainers back on and get raising some more money for this incredible charity!

So please, dig deep and please sponsor me to help other families in need of support by TEESSIDE HOSPICE 🌻 

As most of you know, Teesside Hospice is a place I hold very close to my heart. The hospice helped care for my Mam when she was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer is 2016. They provided support and respite care for my Mam during her palliative treatment on several occasions that she battled her way through chemotherapy and helped  provide counselling which assisted her mentally and physically battle for as long as she did. 

The hospice was a place that welcomed Mam with open arms.  It is a place which provides the patients with the best quality of life possible during the most difficult of times for families. They allowed her to enjoy many memories that my family will treasure forever; movie afternoons with the grandchildren, walks to feed the fish in the beautiful gardens, even girlie nights in with a curry and glass of wine! 

When the family received the dreaded news that Mam was to receive end of life care, Teesside Hospice were again able to help by arranging for her to be taken from James Cook to the hospice. 🌻  We knew that this is where Mam wanted to be 💞 The teams worked incredibly hard to make the transition go ahead and Mam undoubtedly received the best quality of care that we could have wished for. The staff are exceptional, compassionate and professional.

Teesside Hospice was also able to provide counselling support to me which have really helped me to deal with the loss of Mam, Nanny Carol. The true warrior that all of those who knew her loved her beautiful smile 💞
