Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I started doing triathlons 4 years ago as I wanted to raise money for PSC, a chronic liver condition our neighbour's son suffers with. I have amazed my family by continuing to train and this year have decided to 'up the ante' to support another cause close to my heart - Parkinsons.
My beloved dad and an uncle have this debiliating condition and I know of several others who also suffer. In order to really earn your donation, I am this year moving up to the Standard distance triathlon for 2 out of the 3 tris, (the York tri doesn't do the longer distance). So basically I'll be doing the Olympic distance of 1500m swim, 40km bike and a 10km run (depending on the course). Suffice to say this is going to be a huge test of my fitness, mentally and physically. I have been training for 9 months and just to add a bit of extra pressure, fell off my bike recently putting me out of action for over a week. I am yet to test out my injured arm swimming but with only 2 weeks until my first tri of the trio, I have made the challenge even harder! Not the best preparation in the countdown to the big event.
I am already feeling incredibly anxious about going the distance but knowing I am punishing myself for a such a worthy cause will get me over the line, even if I'm crawling by the end! I would be extremely honoured if you would consider sponsoring me for my trio of tris. It would mean so much to me and Parkinsons UK. Thank you.
