Story
In 2019 I became ill with bad fatigue everything was a struggle, just walking up a small incline caused me to be out of breath. The NHS were amazing I had loads and loads of tests scans, MRI and finally a bone marrow biopsy. In January 2020 I was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called Essential Thrombocythaemia. I’m very lucky that this condition which I call my ET can be managed successfully with medication, allowing me to continue to live a normal life & do the job I love. The hospital monitor my blood every 3 months to ensure my medication is keeping me healthy.
My police dog Quest will be joining me on a 10 mile walk of Light on the 27th March.
Blood Cancer UK provide amazing support and I’m proud to be supporting a community dedicated to beating blood cancer.
Blood Cancer Uk do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
If you can spare a few pounds to help I would be so grateful if you could sponsor me.
Thank you
Claire
