Story
On April 13th 2014 I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my Daddy who passed away on February 2nd 2013.
I am running for The Christie, a specialist cancer hospital and research centre based in Manchester who treated my father when he was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2010.
The local hospitals were unable to treat my father due to the late stages of his cancer and his lung condition; however Dr Paul Lorrigan at Christie’s was willing to take a chance. Dad was provided access to clinical trials and underwent a very successful series of chemotherapy treatments. What this meant in real terms was time and memories. The treatment at Christies gave us some wonderful family holidays together, it gave my sister and I a few more pints down the pub with our dad and it ensured that my daughter got to meet her Grandad before he died. For this I am extremely, extremely grateful.
I am hoping to raise a minimum of £2,000 and would like to think that this money would go some way into providing another family who’s loved one is suffering from terminal cancer the extra time and memories which we had.
Please dig deep and thank you.
