Claire's 2 year anniversary breast cancer walk, 1 September 2021
During these extraordinary times our NHS staff are working tirelessly to care for our communities. We have been overwhelmed with offers of help and hope this campaign can raise funds to support our staff health & wellbeing now and in the future.

Story

I am doing a 200 mile sponsored to walk raise funds for Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS charity as a small way of saying thank you for the incredible care they took of me whilst I faced my stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

As most of you know, I was diagnosed in September 2019 and completed 9 months of treatment in June 2020. I had chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and continue to have hormone therapy now. Without fail, the nurses, doctors and carers at both Huddersfield and Calderdale hospitals were fantastically compassionate and genuinely saved my life. They continued to provide incredible care and support even through the chaos of a pandemic and I feel so blessed to have had such excellent treatment.

October is breast cancer awareness month and this year I will be walking 200 miles through the month to raise awareness and funds. That's 50 more than I did last year!

Please donate to support these amazing hospitals.

About the campaign

During these extraordinary times our NHS staff are working tirelessly to care for our communities. We have been overwhelmed with offers of help and hope this campaign can raise funds to support our staff health & wellbeing now and in the future.

About the charity

We raise funds for all wards and departments at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, enhancing the experience of patients, their families and staff, over and above what NHS funding alone can deliver. Together we can make a real difference to local people when they need it most.
