I am running the Edinburgh Marathon on 29th May this year to raise money for Mind.
Mind is a mental health charity which provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health illness. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health conditions.
I am fundraising for Mind in memory of my brother George, who we sadly lost in July 2019. George was kind, charming and full of character, and hid his illness from us so well - something he should never have had to do.
Having run the Paris marathon in 2017, I vowed that I would never run another marathon. And here we are. I rediscovered running in 2019 as a way of dealing with the sadness and grief; it became an important outlet for me and I have enjoyed sharing this with others during Covid.
Your donation will mean a huge amount to me and my family, and I would also be extremely grateful for any supporters in Edinburgh on the day! If we can help Mind to save just one family from a similar experience, the 26.2 miles will be more than worth it.
Huge thank you for your support.
