I have worked in the humanitarian sector now for more than 20 years and have spent the last 11 years working with Save the Children both in the UK as well as several emergencies and conflicts including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Haiti, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and the Middle East. 

It really is a brilliant organisation, which I am incredibly proud to work for and this is in part because of the incredible bunch of inspiring and talented people I work with every day.  Whether my colleagues are undertaking technical, support and operational functions in the UK or putting their lives on the line overseas, they all do so with the intention of saving as many lives as possible and helping children, both in the UK and around the work reach their full potential.

For those of you not familiar with the organisation, in 2020, working alongside our partners in the UK and around the globe, we directly supported more than 44 million children delivering life-saving interventions, protecting children affected by conflict and supported struggling families with critical financial and home learning support.   

On September the 12^th  2021 I will run the Great North Run half-marathon, followed by the London Marathon on the 3^rd of October with all of the sponsorship going to the vital work of Save the Children UK.
