Story
In 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Beaumont hospital. Aged 32 years of age with no family history, it was a shock to say the least. Unfortunately the cancer had also spread to my lymph nodes so the team suggested an aggressive treatment plan. Two operations, 8 chemo sessions, five and a half weeks of radiation, herceptin for a year and tamoxifen for five years. When I was diagnosed I was six months away from my wedding. Postponing was never an option for us. The incredible team managed my chemo appointments in order to have them completed a couple of weeks before hand. There was a break to get married, a week in Rome and then back for the radiation to begin. It has now been ten years since my diagnosis and I think I’m healthier than ever, I’m still in the care of the great team in Beaumont and always will be. We’ve had some scares over the last few years and the team in Beaumont have been incredible throughout. This October I’m abseiling off Croke Park, someplace very dear to my heart, to give something back to the Beaumont team. They are an incredible team and they deserve to have the best facilities available. Those who know me know that doing an abseil is something so far out of my comfort zone but it means that much to me. It would be great if you could sponsor me as I take on this challenge.
