Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Lily Foundation is a charity set up to raise awareness of, and to conduct research into Mitochondrial Disease - a rare disease which is difficult to explain. Please see this link to the website where there is a video to give more information

I found out about the charity through Alison Maguire, a friend I went to school with. Her beautiful daughter, Niamh, was born on 24th June 2004, just a few weeks before my own son Finlay was born. She was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen, with gorgeous long eye lashes and blue eyes. Sadly, when she was only 7 weeks old she started having seizures. Her full story is here:-

Sadly, Niamh passed away on 9/2/09 aged 4 1/2. Her parents are now very involved with the Lily Foundation, working to help support other parents and families whose children are diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease, and to fund research into this rare condition.
Please help me to raise funds for this chairty to continue its important, but little known work.
