Story
As you probably know, my beautiful sister, Jenny, died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on 4th July. She suffered a sudden cardiac death caused by a previously undiagnosed condition called cardiomyopathy.
She’s always been the coolest, the most beautiful, the kindest and the most caring person you could dream of knowing and she’s left a massive hole in our family’s life.
She was the best mummy, wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law and friend and I can’t believe she’s gone, just like that, no warning, no chance to say goodbye, no chance to tell her one more time how much I loved her and how amazing I thought she was, but I hope she knew.
I wanted to do something in her name, to help others that are affected by Cardiomyopathy so I’ve roped Vicki in and we thought we’d start by walking 500 miles, starting on 25th September and finishing on Jen’s birthday, 25th December.
This works out at about 5.5 miles a day which we’ll be fitting in around work, whether that’s walking Bumble or going to the gym to walk on the treadmill or walking up & down the stairs a billion times a day but however we do it, we’ll be tracking those steps to make sure we do those miles while hoping we can raise a little bit of money as we go.
We’ve chosen the charity Cardiomyopathy UK as they are the national charity for people affected by this disease. They’re only a small charity but they give support, raise awareness & campaign for better research & quality treatment of the disease and they need all the funds possible to help them do this. If you fancy seeing how they help, their website www.cardiomyopathy.org has all the info you need.
We’d love to raise £500 for them and would be so grateful if you could help us by giving any amount you can spare. £500 for 500 miles!
