Story
We work for a remarkable charity based all over the Wirral and Wrexham, called Autism Together. For over 50 years Autism Together has provided support to people with autism and their families; offering a wide range of services tailored to the individual and their needs. We believe that every person with autism is unique and we will work with them to overcome difficulties autism presents them with, enabling them to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life. We provide support and guidance for the whole family including siblings and partners as well as employers and colleagues of someone with autism. Help us to continue what we do.
We will be walking a famous route called 'Camino de Santiago', also known as a Pilgrimage starting on the 25th of May 2022. This is a 500 mile hike from St Jean, France to Santiago, Spain, usually lasting around 35 days.
We understand that this hike is going to be challenging, and at times exhausting, however taking on a challenge like the Camino will be exhilarating and will show us what we are capable of.
Whilst walking the Camino, all pilgrims have a shared goal no matter where they are from or what their background is. Part of the purpose of a pilgrimage is to share your journey and experiences with others. During our journey we will be spreading autism awareness and sharing our appreciation for the company, Autism Together, whom we work for.
We will be aiming to walk 16-18 miles per day, visiting and appreciating many different towns and their locals. This trip is far from a luxurious holiday, as we will be completing the Camino, 'the Pilgrimage way', and staying in the nearest available Albergue once we have completed our miles for the day.
We both share a love for walking outdoors, as well as the scenery and nature that we come across. We have completed many strenuous walks this past year, but the best is yet to come.
!Buen Camino!
