Just over two years ago my mother-in-law Rose Petrie was taken into hospital with treatable kidney problems. Unfortunately, whilst in hospital, she picked up an infection that turned into sepsis which her body wasn’t able to fight. We lost Rose three weeks after she went in; an outcome we never, ever predicted. It was devastating. Rose was only 58.
I am running the Great North Run in Rose’s memory because she meant more to us than can ever be expressed, and we miss her every day. I would also like to raise money for the UK Sepsis Trust, so that they can continue their amazing work. They raise awareness of the horrors of sepsis and with any luck, will eradicate it altogether one day. We can only hope.
Thank you for considering donating. It is truly appreciated.
