Story
My dad Claudio passed from Alzheimers on 25th October 2006. He was 78 yrs of age. He was born in Italy but came to England to work in the mines at the age of 21 years.
I never really understood Alzheimers till i saw my dad in hospital rocking back and forth, not knowing who i or my husband was. He went back in time and was living in the past and thought i was Kim his daughter from his first marriage.
He did not know what food was half the time and was scared of eating. He could not dress hmself or wash himself my husband use to do it when he was in the residential Home. Would hardly let anyone go near him. He did not know the difference from morning and night and even lost the knowledge of what a clock was.
We had no support to help us deal with this and just tried our best. To see my dad not know who i was and deteriorate was heartbreaking. My Dad, My Hero when i was grow up who would cuddle me and hold me, give me advice was gone there was a stranger in his place.
I know it was hard and scary for him also to lose your memory everything being strange.Within 4 months of being diagnosed he went to live with the angels in Heaven x
This is my chance to raise money for other people suffer from this and families.
Forever In My Heart Dad and always Loved.
Your daughter
