We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

My lovely Grandma was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2016.  Dementia really is one of the cruellest illnesses as Grandma has full awareness of her increasing loss of memory and independence.  Thanks to a team of wonderful careers, friends, and family she is still able to live in her own home and I really treasure the weekends I spend with her.

Last year I ran a 10 mile race and a half marathon to raise money for charity and I was so grateful for all the support I had.  I am the non-sporty sister and have come from not running at all to now planning to do my first marathon!

There are many charities which do excellent work in supporting those with dementia and their families. I have chosen to fund raise
for a charity that is researching prevention and cure so in the future others won't suffer being gradually stripped of their memories.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
