Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to take the challenge! I will be spending 14 days in Peru, trekking across one of the most challenging ancient treks in the world with the most amazing views! I was originally booked to trek across Iceland but unfortunately this was cancelled. I refused to be beaten by this and have taken on a more challenging trek 6 months later than planned with a higher fundraising target!
In order to complete the trek I will have to follow a strict training regime and lose weight. I have been preparing so far before I was accepted and I have already lost 1.5 stone in weight. The training and trek will be particularly challenging to me as I have Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed 8 years ago but had suffered for 10 years before without knowing what was wrong. I was finally given the right medication 2 years ago and have not looked back since! It will mean that I will have to beware of my limits and at times I will have to push through the pain but I am determined that I will be at the front of the group, leading the way!!
I am not a great camper and I will be travelling with others that I have never met before - completely out of my comfort zone - but therein lies the challenge!
I am so excited and consider myself very fortunate to be given this opportunity, and the current health, to visit such an amazing country with such amazing scenery. Wish me luck!!
