Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ian Meek inspires people, some he never even met, to give their time willingly to raise funds for brain tumour research to eradicate the disease that took his life and thousands of others too. As he was told his 20 year old tumour had become milignant, such was the man that, he began to fundraise. Ian chose to seize the opportunity to raise funds & inspire others to raise funds. With the long term in mind, he wanted to achieve sponsorship for a Phd student focusing on a cure for brain tumours. The Phd student is in place but the cure is not yet found. So the fundraising continues....
Ian grew up and spent most of his adult life in Yate. His brother & parents keep the Bristol end of fundraising going. Ian was only 42 when he passed, he had teenage children and a wife. Ian fundraised, cycled and walked, when he was really poorly, giving strength to all who joined him & finding strength to make a difference. His family & friends continue to come together in his memory raising as much as they can. The least I can do is cycle 100km in memory of such an incredible man. Any amount however small, is gratefully received.
