Story
Macular degeneration is an incurable eye disease caused by the deterioration of the macula. The macula is the part of the retina at the back of the eye which is responsible for our central vision, most of our colour vision and the fine detail of what we see.
Nearly 1.5 million people in the UK have macular disease and it is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK. Those who suffer from macular degeneration have blurred vision or loss of central vision.
Macular Society is an often unheard of charity, but much funding is needed for research into cures so any donation would be greatly appreciated.
If you are in Belfast on Sunday 1st May - we would love any support from the sidelines - especially from mile 18 - to get us across that finishing line!! We can say the training hasn’t been easy!!
My Mum’s mother was one of those affected by this disease although she never complained! So Granny, we are running this in memory of you ❤️
