Story
In June 2021, me and some friends from Loughborough will take on a 2000-mile journey across 12 countries ending up in Dubrovnik all in aid of Alzheimers Research.
Since Alzheimer's disease was first diagnosed in 1901, astronauts have travelled to the moon, research has helped double cancer survival rates, and a diagnosis of HIV is no longer a death sentence. Yet, we still don't have any treatments to slow or stop the diseases that cause dementia.
Alzheimer's Research UK wants to see a world free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia and research is the answer. Alzheimer's Research UK are the UKs leading dementia research charity and are powering world-class research studies to beat dementia sooner. Backed by passionate scientists and supporters, they're challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field, and funding the innovative science that will deliver a cure.
In order to help their research i am looking to raise £600 before i leave. My first fundraiser is a personal physical challenge, a triathlon. I will run 10 miles, cycle 30km and swim to finish in order to try and raise money.
Please support if you can! Thank you
