At the end of last year 2012; my family and I found out that my mum had a brain tumour; it wasn’t until January after surgery that we were told it was a Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). On average people with this grade and type of cancer live for Two years. However; mum’s a fighter and has never given in to anything!!!

I found the Brainstrust and the Team there have been amazingly supportive and are always at the end of the phone when you need them the most. They all have experience with Brain Tumours either as patients or Carers so know exactly what to say. Or will find the answer if they are unable to answer it immediately.

Due to this I decided what better way to get fit in 2013 and raise money for a cause that is very close to my heart. I decided that if mum was facing the biggest challenge of her life; I had to give myself an equally tough personal challenge.

I have decided to run FOUR events this year in aid of my mum!!!

- 12th May - Adidas 10K Forest Trail Run, In the Forest of Dean

- 14th July - British 10K London Run

- 8th September - Run to the Beat London Half Marathon

- 6th October - Royal Parks Half Marathon
