Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Welcome  everyone , wow what a crazy last 12 months its been, but there is light  at the end of the tunnel..2021 is bringing  new challenges,  and for me  an especially big one.!

On October 29th 2021 at Wetherby Racecourse, i will be taking part in a Charity Race  over 1m on the flat to raise  money for the British Horse Society,  but mainly for their amazing campaign  " Changing Lives Through Horses", this campaign Changing Lives through Horses aims to improve the lives of disengaged young people, regardless of their background, and give them the opportunity to develop skills that enable them to return to education and/or employment. We aim to celebrate the powerful impact that horses can have on our society and the unique development of life skills which can help young people for the rest of their lives.

In the UK,1 in 10 children have a diagnosabIe mental health disorder as do 1 in 5 young adults.

For me meatal health is an important for me, as 12 months ago,  my  mental health battle began , it hit me  hard  , why would someone like me feel this way,and i felt urge inside that life was not worth carrying  on at times, and my world crashed  before me. Gettin the right help is what stopped me  feeling like i couldn't go but having my own  horse, experiencing  the love these animals bring me every single day, having the neck  to cry on and the person  to tell all my problems to, and to be loved  by them even when I couldn't understand loving myself, made me realise invaluable  work the BHS  do with young adults  and children  to try to prevent  this, with the help of horse  is incredibly important . EVERYBODY  DESERVES A BETTER CHANCE IN LIFE!

I am 34 years old, so this challenge  is goin  to be tough. The fitness  required  for this race  is incredibly challenging.

I have to pass  a grueling  fitness  test that the top jockeys  have to pass to even be passed fit to ride, i then have to attend  a training  day at the Northan Racing College all this to just  even partake  in the race.. i am quite fit, the fitnes  of jockeys is incredible,  so hardwork is needed  to achieve my goal of riding is this race. Many miles  will be ran, many hours sweating  and probably  crying in the gym will be spent , to get myself ready for the race.

Evert penny  counts!, so please don't worry  how little u can give,  Regular updates will be posted on this page and my Instagram page  _eventer_to_jockey_the_blog so u can all see just how tough this will be, and hopfully  the pictures  of us crossing the wining  line as the 🏆winners!

Thank u.
