Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, I lost my gorgeous husband Lee Howell to brain cancer in November of last year after an 18 month battle.
Lee was a fit & healthy 47 year old when he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer & was given just 12-18 months.
Our lives were devastated by this news but Lee remained calm, dignified & so strong throughout. He didn't complain or feel sorry for himself. In fact he felt lucky to have had such a good life, achieving many of his goals & for finally finding & marrying me.
Unfortunately, the treatment that Lee received during his illness has not progressed much in the last 30 years. More research is necessary to improve treatment, to give a better quality of life & for better prognosis for those diagnosed.
Although brain tumours are the biggest killer of the under 40's from cancer in this country, they receive less than 2% of the annual spend for cancer research. Therefore myself, Rachel, Michelle, Andy, Lara & Keith will be walking 100k along the Thames path on 12-13 September to raise funds & awareness for The Brain Tumour Charity. This will take aprox 25-30 hours & we will be walking non stop through the night.
Please, please help us reach our target by donating whatever you are able to.
Thank you so much,
Claire xx
