I've recently gotten involved in this amazing charity with a vision to create a world free from fear of sexual and gender-based violence. They run empowerment workshops for females, to build confidence and develop self-defence skills, as well as empathy programs for 10-13 year old boys to help them play a part in ending violence against women. By training local men and women as instructors, they are also creating a sustainable local infrastructure and creating income for women and men in marginalised communities in U.K., India and South Africa.

Having just joined the Board of Trustees, I've been thinking of how I can make some sort of financial contribution. I don't know any mega rich celebrities. I'm never gonna run a marathon. But I know a helluva lot of good people who share the same values about equality, diversity and respect - regardless of gender, race or creed. I also know that if I happened to rock up at your door anywhere in the world, you'd crack open a bottle or we'd go out for pints. And let's face it, I've probably bought you shots at some point in our friendship...and travelled all over the world to celebrate your birthdays/weddings/kids. So I'm asking you to buy me a virtual G&T for my birthday by making a donation to this amazing charity. 

I've seen the outrage we collectively feel about Trump's policies lately - it's a worrying trend that people like him are making sexual violence against women permissible, cutting off funding to aid agencies and discriminating against those in most need of help. So put your money where your mouth is - give as much as you can afford and you will make a significant difference to this small charity with big ambitions. For those in London, I'll be having a house party to combine shenanigans with collecting a few pounds.
