Story
**UPDATE**I’m injured! So much so I’ve had to take the tough decision to pull out of this year’s London Marathon. BUT, all is not lost, my amazing husband has stepped up, and with the blessing of Pendleside Hospice will now run in my place this April.
All your fantastic donations are not lost and those precious memory miles will still appear on the back of Luke’s vest.
I seriously do have the BEST husband! I don’t know many who would step up to such a huge challenge with only 5 weeks to go. Luke’s been training hard in the background with 16/17 miles under his belt and currently planning his 18-mile route for next weekend.
We still have £600 to raise to hit our target. If you haven’t already and can spare a few pounds, please, please donate to this amazing cause, and show your support for this super human.
Oh! And Luke has said if the donations hit £2.5K he ---will run it as Captain Jack Sparrow!
--------------------------------------------------------------------I'm running the London Marathon for Pendleside Hospice!!!Yes, I'm mad! And anyone who knows me well, will know this will be no easy feat. In fact, I've not set foot to pavement for well over 9 years. I've just completed my first week of training and so far so good, but I've got a hell of a long way to go and only 15 weeks to do it in.
I've been working with Pendleside Hospice over the last 12 months and feel so honoured to be running for them. I now need your help to raise as much money as I can.It costs a staggering £12,500 to run the Hospice for ONE day! That's £4.5 million per year, and only 22% of this money comes from statutory funding, meaning the Hospice has to raise over £3.5 million pounds each year.So every penny counts!I'll be keeping you all posted as my training progresses - look out for lots of pictures of me with a sweaty red face and if anyone fancies joining me for a couple of miles, your support and encouragement will be much appreciated!
