Please support me!
Well, not me but my wonderful husband Andrew (Andy) and eldest son Thomas! They both decided they wanted to take on the challenge of completing the Sutton Fun Run and I suggested they raise money for an amazing local charity in the process! Andy is new to running, (he even had to buy new trainers) but is using an app to help him train and is already noticing the benefits!
I have worked/ volunteered for Acacia for almost 7 years and have seen first hand what a difference it makes to so many families across Birmingham.
Acacia Family Support offers help to mums and families who are suffering from pre and post-natal depression and anxiety. They believe that no mum/dad should suffer alone. They offer support through one to one befriending, group work sessions using CBT, telephone support and help in the home. Here is a quote from a mum who used their service:"I look forward to Monday mornings knowing I will be listened to. Having an unstructured place to talk things through has really changed how I was feeling and just being around other mums with post-natal depression makes me feel more normal."Please support me in this challenge by donating whatever you can afford. Your donation will go towards helping many more future families receive the support they need.£5 provides one off practical support at home or befriending.£10 cover the cost of a group work course for one mums (with free creche).£50 buys a mum or dad's entire journey of recovery with Acacia.
