The Walton Centre is an amazing place with fantastically caring and talented specialist staff. As you all know, Anthony has spent a lot of time in there, had several procedures and gets all his follow-up in this marvellous centre of excellence.

It is the only specialist trust in the UK dedicated to providing brain and spine care and pain management and we feel hugely grateful to have benefitted from their expertise.

They treat a great range of neurological diseases and disorders as well as emergency head / spine injury cases.  They have a new cancer-care unit so that surgery and radiotherapy can all be done on site, rather than patients travelling to Clatterbridge, as Ant did. They lead the way nationally with an innovative programme of pain-relief for chronic sufferers with several procedures not available anywhere outside the Walton.

When Ant's been in there, one place we love to sit (with a coffee, of course!) is the patients' courtyard: with benches, tables, plants and a pond, it is a lovely sheltered area of peace and tranquility to sit and chat, away from the beeping and buzzing of the ward during what have been very traumatic times. Besides funding research, this is one of the things the fund has paid for.
