London Marathon 2020 · 4 October 2020 ·
Thank you for visiting my page. I’ve always said I would run the London Marathon but always had an excuse why not to ‘this year’.
Earlier this year I realised the time would never be right. I work at Nottingham City Hospital as a consultant oncologist treating children and adults with Sarcoma. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. The worst outcomes are often in teenagers and young adults. The current drug treatments we have just aren’t good enough and frequently have horrible side effects. New treatments are desperately needed. Sarcoma UK is an amazing charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers to improve treatments I can give my patients. I’m doing this crazy race for all the sarcoma patients and their families I’ve had the privilege to treat over the last 10 years. You will keep me going through 26 + miles of London.
