Story
For those of you that know me well and those of you that don't - I lost my mum when I was 22 years old after watching her suffer with Multiple Sclerosis my entire life. MS ( in short ) is an horrific, cruel illness that only those who have witnessed it first hand will only ever truly understand. Luckily, I had an amazing family and wonderful friends who supported me through it all. One person in particular was my lovely little cousin Jen, who is more like a sister to me. Together Jen and I will do Total Warrior in the hope of raising as much money as possible for the MS Society. MS is one of the most common neurological diseases around - the most shocking thing of all is that still, in this day and age - there is no cure. The MS Society work tirelessly in the hope of one day finding that crucial cure that will change so many lives. Those sadly newly diagnosed will have the chance of a healthy bright future - and the families of those affected will not have to witness the devastation and heartbreak that MS leaves behind, like Jennifer and I did. My mum was an incredibly brave, wonderful woman who fought the effects of MS with such an incredible amount of strength and dignity. We as a family will always be very proud of her. Therefore, we are doing Total Warrior for her, my lovely mum - Jen's Auntie and everyone suffering with the effects of MS.
On top of Total Warrior, I will also be attempting my first half marathon, along with two of my oldest friends, Christina Heath, Diane Sanders and Christina's husband, Wayne.
Over the years I have done a few things for the MS Society - including a skydive - but these two planned events are definitely going to be my biggest challenges so far. We all know this is not going to be easy... The training is well underway and so far, so good ( touching wood, of course ) ! Luckily I have an amazing support network who continually push me - of which, I am very grateful for ! I'm a very lucky girl!
So sponsorship would be fabulous if you can = every ££ makes a big difference and will be so much appreciated !
Keep your fingers crossed for us and keep smiling 😊
Thank you! Claire xx
