Story
Hi All!
I will be doing the Loch Ness Marathon in October 2011. I have previously done some local running events, but nothing as elusive as a 26.2 Mile Run!! Over the next year I will be training with Jog Scotland Nuffield and paticipating in other running events to work up to Marathon distance.
I am whole heartedly committed to raise money for the ARCHIE foundation, which is based in Aberdeen. Here's what their website has to say:
What is ARCHIE?
The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and Community based Child Health throughout Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. All monies donated to the ARCHIE Foundation go directly towards ‘making the difference’ for children who are patients of the NHS in Grampian and the islands.
How you can make a difference.
Every penny donated to the ARCHIE Foundation makes a difference for local children when they need it the most. Please support your local Children’s Hospital and Community based teams to help every local child when they need us the most.
Your donation may be used in the ward to give simple improvements to the children's stay in the hospital, buying in specialist equipment that the NHS cannot afford, training a specialist nurse in childrens pain management or fund a whole new children's department at Cornhill.
Here's some suggested donations per mile!
50p per mile = £13.10
£1 per mile = £26.20
£2 per mile = £52.40
Don't forget to claim Gift Aid!
Thanks for visiting my page and I'll keep you up-to-date with my training efforts.
