Story
As some of you are aware , our son Aidan MacDonald, a conditional jockey with Micky Hammond , suffered a stroke due to a Carotid Artery Dissection on 31st march 2021 after a nasty fall at Hexham race course two weeks earlier .
The care and support Aidan has received from not only the doctors and physios , but all at the IJF has been second to none.
In a bid to say thank you to all concerned at the IJF , we are taking on the challenge of The Great Glen Way, a coast to coast walk from Fort William in the west of Scotland to Inverness in the east, starting on the 13th August 2021 with a duration of 5/6 days. Just to make things exciting, (and harder) not only are we walking , but we are wild camping along the way, carrying with us our tent ,clothing and supplies .
We are both looking forward to not only the the challenge and making memories ,but hopefully with the support and donations from our friends and all those who enjoy the sport of horse racing, help us raise as much as we can for this very worthy charity.
Any donation , large or small, will be greatly appreciated for this worthy charity ..The Injured Jockeys Fund..
Updates will be on our face book page as we walk ....
