Rosie was born on January 18th 2009 with a heart mumer due to this she needed an x ray. At a day old we were told that she has hemi vertabra and scoliosis. Which means rosie has one missing rib 3 left vertabras missings in a row which is very uncommon and a curved spine.A curvred spine can be picked up on a scan however i had 10 and no one picked it up once.

We were then left 4 to 5 weeks not knowing anything as our local hospital does not specialise in this, we then went over to frenchy hospital to be told that we have the best consultant for Rosie mr Hutchinson and that if Rosie does need the metal rods put in her spine to make her straight then it will be twice a year for the next ten years as it stands we are non the wiser as most of you can see she looks like a normal new baby. We dont know when we'll find out if she requires the surgery.

We are lucky the dr did an x ray that day other wise we wouldn't of know for years which is why my husband and my youngest brother have decided to raise money for the scolisis charity by having there legs or chest waxed. No one knows why children are born with it and there is research going on but they need money so this is the first of our fund raising events as we are planning more to help more parents and children around the uk.
