Story
I am planning to ride 1000 miles to raise 1000 pounds for TASC. I'll be riding through the highlands over hills and through glens - with two horses (Yogi & Swift). Taking two horses rather than one is more challenging but it does allow me to be fairly self-sufficient and means that I can wild camp in the hills. My journey should take 3-4months and we will face bogs, river-crossings, challenging trails, mountain weather, and the infamous Scottish Midge!
Why TASC? Ambulance staff are under more pressure than ever before - with the NHS seemingly at breaking point. Our staff are only human and can break physically, mentally, or financially too but there is little support provided directly from our employer.
This is where TASC comes in - they provide those in need with support and expert help, supporting current and retired Ambulance Staff and their families. TASC's services concentrate on mental, physical and financial well-being - helping individuals to remain healthy which also improves the robustness of the service providing aide to the nation.
Any money raised by me will be ring-fenced to help Ambulance Staff in Scotland and/or to raise the profile of TASC's services north of the border.
