Story
On the 13th January 2018 our beautiful son, Edward Arthur Akroyd, was born. We spent four amazing days with him in Calderdale Royal Hospital and then Leeds General Infirmary where he was cared for by the wonderful staff on the neonatal intensive care units. On the 17th January 2018 Edward sadly passed away. We will always cherish the time we spent with Edward and the love that he has brought to our lives.
Forget Me Not are a children's hospice based in Huddersfield. They have offered us support in a number of different ways during this difficult time and they offer invaluable help to many families in a similar situation to ours.
Edward would have been 5 this year. I want to remember the happiness we felt with Edward and do something positive in his memory that will help others who have had to say goodbye to a child. In Edward’s memory, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money to support Forget Me Not Hospice so that other families who find themselves going through the unimaginable can have the support that we did.
