Story
Clacton Pier will be lighting up red on Friday 16th October until Sunday 18th October to show their support for the British Heart Foundation and the Restart a Heart Day campaign.
Restart a Heart Day raises awareness about cardiac arrest and helps people learn CPR, giving them life saving skills and the confidence to use them. This year Restart a Heart Day takes place on the 16th October 2020.
Why it's important
If you have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK you have less than a one in ten chance of surviving. The BHF and Clacton Pier want to change that and help build a nation of lifesavers.
In 2019, an amazing 291,000 people were trained in CPR through Restart a Heart Day.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from the public that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. Every pound helps so please give what you can and together we can help beat heartbreak forever.
Many thanks!
