Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We're the structural engineers on the design team for the refurbishment of the Contact Theatre. We're excited to be taking part in the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge to raise money for the amazing work they do supporting young people.

Contact is the leading national theatre and arts venue with young people at its heart - supporting them in creative decision-making to help shape programming and planning through life changing projects and as full Board members.  The result is an outstanding, diverse and accessible artistic programme of professional theatre, art, music, spoken word and dance - in their building, on tour, in surprising places and virtual spaces, for everyone to enjoy.

Contact is in the midst of an exciting and much needed capital building project to extend and improve its home.  Recent years have seen a steady increase in audience numbers and in the demand for their free year round programme of creative learning activities - fast outstripping the building's capacity.

Almost £6.5m has been raised so far, but we need to help them to close the gap.  With your support Contact will re-open in 2020 with new performance spaces, a recording studio for young people's music projects; an arts and health development space and a new café/bar - a home for the next generation of audiences, artists and creative leaders.
