Dawn Hopkins from the Rose Inn shares her story:
"Carl took his life on Friday March 20th 2020. Later that same day it was announced that pubs would be closing, but my life had already been devastated by the time we were told to shut our doors. 3 days later we went into lockdown and I wasn't allowed to see, hug or cry with anyone outside my immediate family.
"Norfolk & Waveney MIND were a huge support to me during the time immediately after Carl's death, they were in contact straight away and I had regular calls and even an outdoor socially distanced visit. But as well as being there for bereaved loved ones like me, they are also there for anyone that needs help with their mental health and wellbeing.
"Anyone who needs to talk, anyone who's struggling. The work they do is vital, especially with mental health being affected so much by Covid-19 and all the lockdowns.
"I am very pleased that City of Ale has chosen to support them. Carl loved being a landlord, he loved being in charge of the cellar at The Rose and he loved talking to anyone who would listen about beer! I hope he will always be remembered for the passion he brought to our beer and pub community in Norwich."
