Story
Thank you for visiting my 2021 fundraising page!
It has been a long year for all of us, and especially those living with Duchenne who have had to take extra challenging precautions to avoid getting Covid-19! I am excited that I will once again have the opportunity to participate with the Gals for Cal triathlon team at the Title 9 Tri on September 12 in Hopkinton, MA. Since we founded the Gals, we have proudly raised more than $700,000 for Jett Foundation. Not only is this the year we can all be back together in person again, it marks the 13th year of "The Gals", the 20th anniversary of Jett Foundation AND my son Cal's 20th birthday! When Cal was diagnosed with Duchenne, we were not led to believe he would even reach age 20! And here we are! Livin' large!
THE Gals don’t give up! Now more than ever we must carry on! Cal will turn 20! along with Jett Foundation! While those early days of diagnosis when Cal was about to start kindergarten were beyond devastating and we couldn’t imagine anything worse—I can tell you at 19 it doesn’t get easier for families! More challenges, more expenses, more isolation and more fears are inevitable. Jett Foundation provides the support Duchenne families directly need throughout the lifetime!
Jett Foundation will serve 250 campers of all ages through year-round virtual programs and summer camp sessions; deliver nearly $600,000 of accessibility items and emergency assistance through the Jett Giving Fund; and reach hundreds of families through our educational webinars and supportive Porch Night sessions held throughout the year. Amazing!
All of this is made possible thanks to the generosity of supporters like you! Thank you for that!
