Story
We’re B-A-C-K to our live-action sweat-fest crowdfunding shenanigans and we are all literally jumping in the lake!!!!!
Yak-tually, we are Blading, Boofing, Bowing, and Hulling with our Great Kayak Comeback Relay.
20 plus “Yakkers” will relay for the win and we are hoping you’ll support our efforts, allowing Fit 4 The Cause to continue its robust program services.
For 75 consecutive weeks, we kept our participants active, offering daily fitness classes in our Brady Bunch styled Hollywood Zoom squares.
Although we lost a heroic warrior to pancreatic Cancer, David Adelman wanted us to keep marching.
Our phenomenal board followed this angel’s orders and moved forward with our mission.
David was loyally devoted to the Fit 4 The Cause mission. Serving on several well-respected boards, he was blown away by how this nonprofit served so many with miraculously cost efficiency.
Now we need your support more than ever! Our vulnerable children, seniors, and adults with special needs are facing increased anxiety, and fear after 18 months of lockdown isolation. Funding for special needs groups is decreasing significantly as their family’s face job losses and additional burdens of trauma from the economic fallout.
Knowing that group exercise classes, stress management programs and nutrition education is especially important now for low-income, fragile populations, Fit 4 The Cause pioneered a robust virtual fitness schedule as an active response to the lockdown. In fact, our non-profit organization doubled its class offerings adding programs with Conejo Parks and Recreation, Tri-Counties Regional Center, Engage Treatment Program, and local hospitals serving healthcare workers.
Slowly and cautiously, Fit 4 The Cause participants are returning to our workout venues while we continue with limited online class options.
Hoping you’ll support me and my Kayak relay teammate Jessica Julian LMFT. All participants are playing off the “Yak Back” track and we’ve joined forces as the Weird Gal Yakovics! Cheer us on for Best Yak Costumes, Best Team Performance, and Most Dollars raised.
Let’s do this for DA’s legacy and for the 2000 beneficiaries who need our services now more than ever.
P.S. This photo was taken on our family honeymoon with David, Alexandra, Casey, and Melissa 22 years ago whitewater river rafting in Kern County.
