We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Just under a year ago, I decided I needed to lose weight. My asthma was bad and I kept getting re-occurring chest infections. I joined the Health Central Fitness and Health gym in Norwich and haven't looked back since.

In the early part of 2017, my Dad was diagnosed with vascular dementia and I wanted to do something to raise money as both my Mum and Dad started receiving support from the Alzheimer's Society as Alzheimer's and Dementia Research work together in partnership.

In May I set myself the challenge of rowing a half marathon as I was enjoying using the rowing machine at the gym! I probably didn't realise at the time just how far 21097m actually is or how long it would take, especially as when I first sat on the rowing machine I could only manage 300m!

I now feel able to complete this huge challenge, having lost 4 1/2 stone and want very much to be able to support the charity who are currently supporting my own family.

I would be really greatful for any sponsorship for my row which is taking place on Friday 27th October at the gym.
