Story
I have had my own battles with mental health, suffering from depression and anxiety. At first, I was embarrassed to talk about it. I feel a lot of men feel pressure to be okay all the time and "manly". I feel like one the most masculine traits is being able to talk about your feelings and accept when you need help.
I'm climbing Ben Nevis to raise money for what I believe to be a worthwhile cause. if you share my opinion, I would be so grateful if you could donate or share the link to my just giving page from my social media profiles.
I'm also doing this to show anyone who is in a dark place that things can, and will get better with time. Where you are now is not where you will be a week, 6 months or a year from now. For anyone who is struggling, do not be afraid to reach out, I've found help often comes from the most unexpected places.
The message I want, and feel should be spread is one of positivety - and that's how people should act regarding mental healthy. Honestly, openness and empathy will help breed positivity towards this growing issue.
