When I joined Macmillan as Chief Executive, I promised I would do one overseas challenge to raise money for this great charity which does so much for people affected by cancer.  So the team are holding me to that promise and in October are sending me off to the Middle East, to do a seven day trek across the desert in Jordan.

I will be covering the cost of the trek myself and all sponsorship will go entirely to Macmillan. £10 will keep five Macmillan Information Centres stocked for an hour, £25 will pay for the cost of a patient's conversation with one of our cancer support specialists, £200 will pay for a Macmillan Nurse for an hour.

Needless to say I am well behind on my training programme but I am confident all will be well!
