Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've joined together with some other lovely people to help raise money for Hanna's Orphanage in Ethiopia, by completing four fundraising runs by June.
Hanna’s Orphanage is a small charity set up to help vulnerable children of Ethiopia by supporting the maintenance and expansion of Hanna Orphans Home. The charity fundraises in the UK for the orphanage, and provide them with toys, books, clothes and sports equipment and anything else they need.
Our first run was the Major Series on March 17th which was more of an assault course than a run. It involved scrambling through trenches of mud, clambering up steep hills and struggling over haystacks...as you can see from my lovely photo's!
You can watch a video of the Major Series here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXwBQp89GuI&lr=1
My next race is the Hertford 10k run on April 15th - after that it will be two down and two to go!
Thank you so much to those who have already sponsored me – my last race is in June so there is still plenty of time to help me reach my target of £500 – I have raised £353 now for Hanna’s so I’m really pleased and optimistic that come my fourth race I should have hit it!
We found out the other day that the money raised is being used to by beds for the children so that they have their own bed each as opposed to sharing.
Also if you haven’t looked into the charity already please spend a few minutes reading this blog article about Hanna Teshome the founder of Hanna’s in Ethiopia – a truly incredible and inspiring woman;
