Story
In August 2019, our father (and father-in-law), Rod Chutter, suffered a serious bleed on the brain, which severely impacted his health and most notably resulted in complete right side paralysis, loss of speech and a poor long term prognosis, but Dad defied the medics. After many weeks of care and intensive physiotherapy at the Dorset County Hospital Stroke Unit (Dorchester), Dad returned home where he continued with his recovery having learnt to walk and talk again.
During this time, he demonstrated a strength and determination that amazed even us. It was an honour to witness him work so hard towards what once seemed the unachievable.
Regrettably, in November, the unthinkable happened again, a second bleed, and sadly this time it proved to be just too much; Dad passed away on 2nd December.
We (Lewi, Robyn and Alex) have all been fortunate enough to be given places in this year's Virgin Money London Marathon. In doing so, we would like to raise as much money as possible for the 'Stroke Association' charity, so other families who have gone through the same can receive help and support.
We'd really like to thank you for your support; it is all appreciated. We hope to do Dad proud.
