Campaign by Christian Aid (RCN 1105851, SC039150)
Drought starves. It robs women of the chance to farm and drives their families into hunger. This Christian Aid Week (15-21 May) you can help mums provide food and hope for their families.

Story

Christian Aid supports communities in places which need help the most.  It was formed shortly after WW2 to aid refugees and raised money for emergency supplies in mainland Europe and our current work with  Ukrainian refugees acts as a reminder or our origins.

For Christian Aid Week 2022, we are inspired by Jessica who is a  loving mum in Zimbabwe but drought means every day can be a struggle for survival. She toils on her farm yet climate change means that no food can grow on her ashen dry land. With support from Christian Aid partners, Jessica can set up water taps on her farm, sow drought tolerant crops and learn how to grow food in dry seasons.

Local volunteers are  delivering envelopes to households in Cheadle Hulme and Heald Green;  please help by either donating on this page or alternatively dropping off your donation at one of the locations shown on the envelope.
