Story
It was 2007 when I first went to Uganda whilst travelling around Africa and it was a country that took my heart and where I knew intrinsically that I had the capacity to make a difference.
I came home a registered the Africa Childrens Development Trust and then the projects could officially begin.
It became the start of something magical, even making Uganda my home for several years.
Its been 14 years since I started my work in Uganda and the journey has been epic.
I have met so many incredible women and children who welcomed me with open arms. I have met friends for life.
From building our schools, to distributing thousands of mosquito nets, provision of clean drinking water, support to orphanges, support to those affected by HIV, providing hundreds of incredible women with life changing vocational training and microfinancing and enabling girls to grow in to young women with dignity.
And when I say epic, I mean epic highs and epic lows, but my passion to help and 'do my bit' has never wavered.
Remember the story of the starfish?
My mission has always been, to provide an education to children in Uganda, to empower women in Uganda (through business) to be able to fund their childrens education and support their families in the way they want to. To enable them to have the hope that they can break the cycle of poverty and to continue to support children who are at risk of malaria through the provision of life saving mosquito nets.
Our message is of impact, transformation, hope and empowerment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read a small summary of the most amazing years, of which I know there are many more to come!
