Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Inspired by two of my friends who have completed phenomenal running challenges recently, I've decided to take on a challenge of my own for 2021 which will require commitment and dedication. By the end of 2021 I intend to have clocked at least one thousand miles of running, one thousand miles of walks, mostly with our dog (Mickey), and raise at least a thousand pounds. If my maths is correct that requires around 5 1/2 miles of recorded exercise a day and I won't be counting any steps done at work etc..
I'm supporting a mental health charity for young people for a number of reasons. Most of my working life has involved working with teenagers and I am very aware of the difficulties this age group can face in talking about their worries and accessing the right support. Additionally as a nod to my better half Steph who works tirelessly to support mental health services, I'm very conscious of the funding problems that exist for such valuable resources.
Finally there is a clear link between exercise and better mental health. I look forward to pushing this link to its' limits!
