Story
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. The story itself isn't to do with me, more the people around me. People who know me on a personal level know that I am used to being the one who is worrying family due to medical conditions which doesn't bother me but since Covid I have had three close family members effected by different cancers. One who has recently had it removed, one who is still battling and the final who sadly passed away and will always be missed. The hardest thing about it being a loved one instead of you is knowing there is nothing that we can do to sort the problem.
This is what has motivated me to raise money for Cancer Research. As while we cannot sort the problem ourselves there are people who can and need funding to find the answer to the problems.
Myself and the other members of the Marslands team with their own reasons will be raising money over the year for Cancer Research in different ways. The first being our Marslands March as we have done in the past. We will be walking as a team virtually from John O'Groats to Lands End by doing 10k Steps a day! We will also be taking part in Relay For Life.
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends and family fundraise for world-leading cancer research. Then, we unite as a collective at a weekend-long festival to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making. Together, we remember loved ones and celebrate the tomorrow’s made possible. Together we are beating cancer. How does the money you raise make a difference? When you fundraise for Relay For Life, we fund long-term research. And when we fund long-term research, we make more discoveries. Over time, these discoveries make giant strides towards a world where everyone lives longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer.
Once again thank you very much for reading my story and should you donate I appreciate this greatly and it is for an amazing cause!
