Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In January 2016, Mum was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer. After an extremely difficult year Mum passed away on Valentines Day 2017, a very fitting date for a woman who loved and was loved so much. Throughout that year Mum was very brave enduring rounds of chemotherapy, cruelly to no avail. During this time the support provided by Macmillan nurses has been inconceivable. As a family I don't know how we would have coped without them. I would like to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan so that other families can be assured that their loved ones receive the amazing support Mum did as no one should have to face cancer alone.
I take inspiration from Mum everyday. So far I have never run more than 5k. Knowing what Mum went through, makes me believe a half marathon should be a piece of cake.
Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
Thank you.
