Story
In March 2023, we lost our Mum, Anita Pearson, to bowel cancer. Mum was under the care of St Luke’s hospice when she passed, and we will be eternally grateful for the support and treatment Mum received from the caring staff at the Hospice. Mum was just one of the 1,800 patients with a terminal illness who were treated by the dedicated staff at St Luke’s last year. St Luke’s has a running cost of £12 million, and this year they need to raise over £9 million to continue providing high levels of care.
On Mother’s Day 2022, Mum had been a spectator watching Chris take part in the Sheffield Half Marathon. She really loved the day, especially the community spirit of the event. Later that day, she received a call from Jonathan who gave her the news that she was going to be a Grandma for the first time. This was the best news she could have received; she was overjoyed. It was such a memorable day for her and that’s why it feels very fitting to run the Sheffield Half-Marathon this year in her memory, and to help raise money for St Luke’s Hospice. We will be joined by a team of our family and friends who have kindly agreed to run with us (Emily, Jen, Jim, Jo, Mark, Becca, Iain, Alex, Paul, Matt, Luke B, Luke E, Marc Wragg and Ben Baker). Please help us supporting St Luke’s by donating to such an amazing cause.
Thank you, Jon and Chris Pearson.
