Story

I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving webpage.  My latest challenge will see me running a massive 26.2 Miles in the Edinburgh Marathon.  A challenge that I have never attempted before.

I am completing this challenge to help raise money for the Haematology and Oncology Centre in Bristol.  The centre has helped a friend of mine, Russell Rees, and supported his family when Russell required treatment.

"Friends of Bristol" are a Registered Charity (#264136) whom are dedicated to helping patients at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre by:

¬ Purchasing equipment and scanners
¬ Funding research into new treatments
¬ Providing funding for staff specialist training
¬ Improving the environment in which patients are treated and providing comfort and support to them and their families

"Friends of Bristol" receive no external funding whatsoever and rely on fundraising and the generosity of you, and they are grateful for all help that you can offer!

This is something that I consider very challenging for me personally, and is over double the length of running events that I have accomplished in the past.  I have been running for a little over 4 years now and in that period I have gone from barely being able to complete a mile long run with my hulking 99kgs frame to now regularly completing 10-15 mile runs to maintain my fitness.  Now at 76kgs I have completed practice runs of 19 Miles and will need all the support I can get to find those last 7 Miles to complete this challenge!

Thank you,

Chris.
