Story
Hi all,
As some of you will know, my family have been involved with LOROS for over 30 years and I currently sit on the Board of Trustees. Our CEO, John Knight, did a fundraising Skydive last year and has now challenged us to do the same and..... I can't resist a challenge... particularly when it's for such an amazingly good cause!
When I shared the news with my family, my son, Matthew, sent me an extract from the NHS Mental Health Act that mentioned being sectioned.... cheeky and it will cost him but... he may well be right! :-)
LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
On an annual basis we need to raise almost £8m through voluntary sources and, with the pandemic on, all our retail outlets are closed so any help you can provide in sponsorship would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you in anticipation of your support. With any luck we will be able to go ahead on 9th May but, if not, then I'm sure we will just move the date to later in the year... hopefully before I am actually sectioned! ;-)
